WATERVILLE, MAINE – Oct. 20, 2026 – The Central Maine Growth Council (CMGC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Leslie Wilson as the organization’s new Grants & Operations Administrator. This newly established position supports continuous growth of CMGC, the expansion of Dirigo Labs’ programs, and the organization’s broadening strategic projects across the region and state.
In her new role, Wilson will support CMGC’s finance team and leadership, working collaboratively on operational workflows and critical grant administration. She will directly assist on projects of significant economic and community impact, with a focus on supporting projects that benefit local municipal governments, empower the private sector, and facilitate resources for startups and entrepreneurs.
“Big ideas get the headlines, but it’s the disciplined execution that turns them into new jobs, stronger downtowns, and thriving startups,” said Garvan Donegan, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Central Maine Growth Council. “With the expansion of Dirigo Labs and major infrastructure and development projects ahead, Leslie’s background in financial management, grants, and nonprofit systems will be invaluable. She will be instrumental in supporting key initiatives that benefit the local community, businesses, and Maine’s vibrant ecosystem of startups and entrepreneurs.”
Wilson is a management accountant and finance professional with more than 30 years of experience serving businesses and nonprofit organizations across central Maine. Her extensive background includes financial reporting, treasury management, budgeting, internal controls, and grants. Prior to joining CMGC, Wilson held key financial leadership roles, including serving as Finance Director for the Alfond Youth & Community Center.
Wilson holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, graduating summa cum Laude, from Thomas College.
“It is an honor to join the dynamic team at CMGC,” said Wilson. “As a lifelong resident of Central Maine, I have witnessed the revitalization of the region in a new and exciting direction, and I am excited for this opportunity to contribute to the effort.”
Beyond her professional roles, Wilson is highly active in regional community initiatives. She currently serves as Board Treasurer for the Central Maine Chapter of the New England Mountain Bike Association, an organization that partners with local municipalities and non-profits to build high-quality mountain bike trails that enhance recreational opportunities throughout the region.
“As CMGC’s grant portfolio and operational complexity continue to grow, we knew we needed someone with the experience, judgment, and attention to detail to help strengthen our internal operations and support compliance across multiple funding sources,” said Nicole Timmins, Senior Controller of Grants & Financial Operations. “Having worked with Leslie previously, I knew she possessed the expertise, work ethic, and professionalism necessary to succeed in this role. She was the best possible choice for the position, and I am excited to work alongside her again as we continue expanding our impact across central Maine.”
